Long ago in Scandinavia, there was a beautiful village nestled into the lush, verdant mountainous terrain. In the center of the village stood an ancient downy birch tree, and high in the lofty branches was knitted a beautiful nest. No one knew exactly the age or origins of the nest, only the enchanting delight that it regularly brought to the quaint and serene village. Beginning afresh each spring, carrying on throughout the summer and into autumn, even offering cheerful care to the migrating aerial traveller who was blessed enough to land in the snowy branches of the old, white downy birch for a long and cold winter night or two. The "bo," (which means "nest" in the Swedish language) was large enough to be comfortable, yet small enough to feel like home to every variety of bird in the region and every winged traveller from around the world. Its construction and decoration was one of an artisanal avian Scandi design, from a variety of feathered contributors completed with a whisper of warmth and welcome which made it difficult for its guests to wing away.

As a tribute to the legend of bo, we offer to you our "bo" as a true Scandinavian Loft Experience. Located in the Virginia Highlands, nestled into the lush Blue Ridge Mountains, is the historic and vibrant town of Abingdon, Virginia. In the center of the village is another White Birch, the White Birch Cafe. On the second and third floors of this historic building we have knitted together our guest lofts. Newly renovated and modernized open loft spaces with private master bed and bath, featuring exposed brick walls and vaulted ceilings. Stylishly furnished throughout using artisanal mid-century-modern Scandinavian furniture, decor and accouterments. We warmly welcome you to stay with us for a relaxing and unique experience with an artistic Scandinavian flavor.
